The Indian Muslim Federation (UK) is organising a meeting to raise awareness about Justice to British Indian Muslim Families whose dear ones were murdered in Gujarat Genocide 2002.
The meeting will be held on Saturday, 6 December 2003 10.30 - 1.00 p.m. at IMF Hall, Trinity Close, London E11 4RP. Lunch will be served at 1.30 p.m.
The meeting will be chaired by Father Cedric Prakash from Ahmedabad, India. Fr. Prakash has been involved in the relief and bringing peace and justice to all victims of communal violence for along time in Gujarat. Fr Prakash is part of the 17 member-panel of 'Citizen for Justice and Peace' which produced the report "Crime Against Humanity" a comprehensive, well documented report Gujarat Carnage. Fr Prakash was also invited testify before the US Commission for International Religious Freedom in Washington in June 2002 about state-sponsored pogrom and communal violence in March 2002 in Gujarat, India.
The Dawood Family, of whom three members were murdered by Fascists while they were visiting Gujarat in March 2003 will attend the meeting. Imran Dawood (One of the Survivor) has also agreed to attend.
We have also invited few other distinguished speakers including Professor Gautam Appa who recently visited Gujarat to address the gathering.
Please note that it will be a campaign meeting as well as a fundraising event to provide support to the families for their long legal battle with Indian/British authorities for justice.
